The summarized information contained in this book comes from a variety of sources: personal journals and letters, glass plate negatives and lantern slides. There are hundreds of files and books documented, thousands of photographs scanned and remarked on, numerous water contracts and specification books listed. Also various maps, drawings and blueprints.
